February 2018

Recomended: The Oh Hellos, Eurus

Set to release on the 9th of this month is the second of four EPs from the brother/sister duo, The Oh Hellos. The first EP, “Notos”, kicked off the year long project exploring the origins of creativity with its arrival at the very end of 2017. As a prelude to this coming EP, “Eurus”, the band has released the track “Grow” which proves true to their gentle, yet playful sound. Tour dates for this year can be found on their band website.

icymi (In case you missed it): Kendrick Lamar, sza, "All the stars"

Music royalty Kendrick Lamar and grammy nominated new artist SZA recently dropped their single “All the Stars” as a teaser to Black Panther, the Marvel movie set to release in early February. Lamar will work alongside the president of his label, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, in curating and producing the soundtrack for the film. Early trailers included a new-agey rendition of Vince Staples’ “BagBak” which leads us to believe Vince may have found his way onto the mix, but little else is known about the contents of the highly anticipated soundtrack.

OF CONSEQUENCE: sufjan Stevens, "Mystery of Love"

Almost sneaking by with little ado was Sufjan Stevens and his creations for the soundtrack of the widely acclaimed movie “Call Me By Your Name”. Contemplative, exciting, and heartbreaking all at the same time, “Mystery of Love” received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song and is accompanied on the track by another original, “Visions of Gideon”.
